Rear heater console area, 96-98 vs 99-02? New mod

Did this area change at all for 96-98 vs 99-02? I'm hearing the 99-02 may be longer above the cupholder piece?

Well, it looks like they did.

99-02

The piece above the cupholder. The console in general is higher.

I know when I wen't from my 96 center console to the newer 99+ model it seemed taller when resting my arm on it but I don't recall exacly how much higher but I do have 2 more drink holders in the right place now
Jason, if you really need pic I can go dig out my older 96 console and snap a few pics for you.

Here is why I was asking. I did a custom piece made for the rear and based it off 99. I was wrong.

I fixed it an cut it down. Pic is before, which you can see the 99 is taller. Wonder why they do these changes sometimes.

You have the higher armrest if you have a 99-02. 96-98 is lower. I think mine is just perfect now. Wonder how a 99+ feels.
