rear end size?
I've searched and found out i have 4.10's but what size is my rear end. 2001 4runner 4wd= 8' or 8.4'. the reason im wondering is i just scored a tundra rear end with a limited slip and trying to see if i can make it work in my runner. thanks

I do believe the 4runners and tacomas have an 8 inch rear third member. The T-100 has an 8.4 inch third member and have a back brace that goes around the ring gear that people often argue that this third is stronger than the 8 inch, but is still speculation. The tundra rear end is a 9.5 inch third on the 4.0L and 4.7L engines for the new generation. But the 5.7L engine has a 10.5 inch third member that is huge! As for the early gen tundras I am not sure(probably the 8.4 inch).
Anyways if the rear end is off of anything other than a 4runner of the same generation, then the mounts for the springs and all four links will be different.
