rear axle hp rating,

My bro is thinking about taking a toyota 8 inch and putting it into his turbo fwd car and making it rwd with a supra trans and turning the engine 90 degrees with a dakota bellhousing.

hes already pushing about 390 at the wheels, he wants to know if its possible to pull 500 from our rear ends without modification. I told him cromoly shafts and cryoed gears

anybody got any ideas?

Ford 9" are durable, except on rare occasions. 2 days ago my friends litteraly broke in half, housing and all. The welds where the housing slides into the side of the differential broke and the entire housing separated breaking the splineshaft and possibly damaging the differential. We were all amazed. We took pictures.
