A rare fast 3.0?

Ok hopefully the title is not too misleading. I have a question for everyone. My grandfather ordered this 89 Toyota 2wheel drive pickup new in 90. It has an auto tranny and a 3.0l motor. After my grandfather died I kept it around to haul stuff. You would not believe how fast this thing is! No weight I guess.

My questions are;

1)Is the 3.0l and auto rare for this truck? I have never seen one like it.
2)Whats it worth? I think I am going to sell it

Thanks

Thanks

NADA puts it at $3,095. It might be worth a bit more since it is a one owner (mechanic) and has just over 100k miles. I hate to sell it but don't have any room for it. I bet it would make a good pre-runner though. Thing hauls a$$

I am not really sure how to tell. I guess I could go look at the door sticker. Has no problem hauling a full load of bark I know that.

I own an '89 1-ton longbed. Usually the 1-ton has 1ton badges on the front quarter panels and a vinyl 1-ton decal on the bottom right side of the tailgate. The ride is a lot rougher because of the heavy duty leaf springs when empty, but loaded up with a few yards of dirt or a camper, and it will get 18-20 mpg.

It is probably because of the small tires. The auto is geared way too high from the factory and putting small tires on it will effectively gear it down. Lots of power with low gearing.

yeah the gears and tire combo on that truck probably make it accelerate more than others. The autotranny is not geared well for being fast or powerfull and the 3.0 aint a speed demon but the tires look to be way smaller that stock.

I would probably try to get that from you for $2500, but I would ask $3500 if I where selling it.

Mine was a 3.0, but not an auto...

I sold it for $4500 CDN last summer. I should have kept it and lowered it though... ah well.

We have a 90, 1 ton, 3.0 auto at work with a steet sweeper on it (NOT the shotgun!!). The rig only has 6000 miles on it! Runs sweet.

I remember reading somewhere that from 89- to like 92 or 93, the 2 wheel drive, reg cab, short bed with a v6 and manual was the second fastest vehicle Toyota made (behind the supra) I dunno wha tits worth but it looks good

20R and 22R powered 2 wheel drive trucks were by no means doggy, i can only imagine what something with 50 more horsepower would feel like in one of those little things

the only standard cab 2wd trucks with the V6 that i've seen were 1 tons. damn shame too, as i've always thought the extended cab 2wds were all rediculously ugly.

Thanks everyone for the great input. As for the head gasket recall I found an extended warranty in the glovebox for the headgasket but it only goes to 100k miles. I have 112k. Does that mean it doesn't qualify?
