random metal part off my runner

so i was down riding thru a creek the other day and when i was driving off i heard some weird scrapping noise. when i got out to see what it was i had a metal peice laying on the ground. it wasnt a skid plate or anything that i know of. i just took out the bolt with a wrench and put it in my trunk. does anybody know what this might be. it came from the front right side. my friend said it was probably just to protect something and shouldnt be a problem with it off.

it may have been your blinker fluid gauge pod. but seriously, without a pic of it , any idea would be tough since the majority of the parts are metal, but maybe a piece of heat shield?

Magic 8-ball says it's your muffler bearing magnetic bolt retention clip.

I would say it is most likely the blinker fluid pod, but I suppose it could be part of the muffler bearing assembly, those are bad about getting torn up since they hang down so low. If you dont get it fixed, it can cause serious problems with your exhaust.

Better post up some pics...

Rocko, yep it's in that pic. Just behind the starter, connected to a pipe, the Cat. must have fallen off his ride, now he's holding it in his lap?

Until a picture is posted, I say we just start guessing which part it is and the winner gets "Member of the Week" title as bragging rights

I still say its a muffler bearing assembly. Or possibly the blinker fluid pod, but it all depends on if its in the front or the rear.

I'll say it's the transfer case small skid plate

If it's in the rear of the vehicle, I say it's the spare tire

I had a piece of exhaust hanger fall off once. It made some wierd noises before I figured out it wasn't attached, only hanging by the rubber hanger.
