Quick tire size opinions needed

Brake issues but 4runner have bad brakes anyway, anti-lock system miscalculations, broke a steering arm and had to replace a tie rod. Again there is not way to confirm because they are normal wear and tear problems but kind of suspicious. Do I sound like I am way way out in left field?

Greg,
I think plenty of people run larger-than-stock tires on the 3rd Gen without too many issues. It's well known that that front end is super sensitive to alignment and wheel balance issues.
With that said, I've used heavier-than stock 275/70/16 REVOs for nearly three years and have had no issues that I would call abnormal. I did recently replace the steering rack bushings and sway bar bushings as the stock rubber pieces were worn out. I could see how heavier/larger tires would promote this sort of wear & tear.
I never had an issue with tire balance, as the shop I use has the Hunter machine and knows how to use it correctly. That, and the REVOs tend to be a 'round' tire.
How many miles do you have on the truck? I have 120,000.

Well, the tires on and the truck once again drives pretty damn near glass smooth.
Road Force was minimal for all the tires and they balanced very easily. I already like the ride better. There's a bit more give with the slightly taller profile, so the truck just seems to ride smoother.
Unfortunately my driver's side inner tie rod had a noticeable amount of slop, so I had the shop replace it while I was there. I hate spending money on things that I would normally handle myself, but I do not have the time in the next few weeks to address this. And the truck needed an alignment, so the rod end needed replacement before the alignment would work.
And, to add insult to injury, my driver's side axle seal has started leaking! I've been waiting on it to happen, so I'm glad I got 120,000 miles before this reared its head. That will be a DIY!
I'll post pictures by the weekend.
