Quick S/C ?

Ok, this will be easy - I have a 1st gen S/C but no boost gauge. With the stock pulley, how much boost should the S/C make?

I think

I think it is 6 psi. Then I believe they sell a 9lb pulley also.

gadget's site indicates that the 1st gen may put out a little bit more than the 2nd gen, although there is also an efficiency issue.

"they" (meaning TRD) don't make a smaller pulley for more boost, but they do have a larger, 5 psi pulley for free (to reduce pinging).

you can get smaller pulleys for more psi from pulleyboys.com, maxxautoworks (but they are scammers), and ELprototypes.

The stock pulley should make about 6lbs. of boost. Don't worry about any smaller pulley to make more boost. Your stock fuel delivery system can't even come close to supplying enough fuel to keep up. You would need to do some serious fuel system upgrades to support that much boost. That is too much for that little TRD blower to be making anyway. It will become really ineffecient.

i ran 9psi (with 305 injectors, 190lph pump) and saw a DECREASE on the top end. most likely due to the increased temps of the discharged air . . .

that may be overcome by water injection though.

That's what I'm hoping will happen, Creed. I hoping I can run 370cc injectors, SMT-6, water injection, 9psi pulley, and the 190 LPH fuel pump. I'm also hoping to push 275 rwhp, but I could be dreaming.

i think that is a realistic goal, considering the ignition advance possibilities . . .

Yeah, that would be awesome! I would love to be the first person to break 300 rwhp, but I'm not sure it will work out or not. The only person I know that has been close is Duffdog, but nobody really knows the validity of Tim's claims, because no one has seen his dyno runs.

Tim,
The shop is called Marco Automotive Chassis Dyno. I paid $60 for three pulls. Here is their phone number (916) 988-8105. If I remember right, you can rent the place for an hour and do all the runs you can fit within the hour and pay $120. Want to meet up?

Do you mean the first to break 300 with a TRD blower? Because there's more than one guy running in excess of 400 rwhp on the outdoorwire board. See the below thread...

I agree Creed! I want 300 rwhp without the nitrous, not with it. Nor do I want to do all that stuff to the internals of the engine either, if I don't have to.

Well, if you are serious about making 300 hp at the wheels, then you will need to dome some upgrading in the bottom end of your motor. The stock internals were not made to take that punishment over the long haul.

but i developed a Cam gear seal leak and i fixed but then turned into a valve seal leak and i'm burning oil. which is all on a stock motor.
Boostedtaco is saying that he is damaging his motor by running his setup on a stock bottom end. This comment was after making 400hp with a 100-shot. That would be 300hp with no juice.

I'm wondering if he has damaged it as a result of the 100 hp shot coming on so hard as it normally does, or just the standard 300 rwhp? It's hard to say isn't it?
