Quick Q about taillight color removing

Would it be possible to dip/soak tail lights in nail polish remover and have the color come off? Or is it a red plastic? Trying to accomplish the clear look. Thanks

I once removed spray on tint from taillights (not toyota tails) using nail polish remover. The red did NOT come off, just the spray on black tint.

No that will not work, they are made of red plastic.
Good idea though.
