I really don't know what sizes the wheel spacers come in, but from the look of it you could probably fit the rims with something around a 0.75-1" spacer.

I wonder if it's possible to get longer studs...?

I would not go this route on a rig that you plan on wheeling. When you hit the rocks/mud/trees/etc. you have a bit more resistance on those studs...so if they are longer they're at a much greater risk of snapping off.

Just my $0.02...

So everyones suggestion here would be to sell my 32s and start looking into some 285s for the 16" rim, or might ther be anoter path to save me the $$$ and hassel of this, and keep my 32s?

The larger diameter rotors require the calipers to be farther out...so it's a no-go unless you get smaller rotors, or shave the calipers quite a bit. (good call Keisur)
When we were referring to the caliper being too big, that is what we were saying. Not that they are physically bigger than the Taco, just that they stick out further preventing the 15's and most 16's from fitting. I must have read wrong early in the thread because I could have saved you the trouble of test fitting the 15" steelies on the 16" equipped 3rd gen, I tried it last year when my buddy bought a set of 15's for his '98 Taco. No go. sorry I missed that dude. the 16" will indeed fit but it will be very close to the cali's. I talked to a guy on this forum last january but I can't remember who it was. he has the 16" wheels from 4WP and he said they definately fit, just not as much clearance as the alloys. but he also said there's no problem with heat or anything. so that's good news.

The shaving of the rotors that I mentioned was only an idea, I wouldn't try it unless you had to and even then I would think twice about lower the integrity of the caliper body. I know you aren't going to do that though.

I would just sell and get 285's. the 15's will never fit without converting to the smaller calipers or one he-ll of a spacer. spacers aren't really smart once they make the wheel center come out further than the hub because then the lose that extra support that the hub could provide and all the shear forces go into the studs, not to mention the extra length for a greater moment arm on the axles. just not a good idea in my opinion. I have a catalog at home where you can order any width spacers for $15 each, it came in yesterdays mail. any size in 1/4" increments up to 1"+. I'll post the website tonight when I get home. I think somebody on this thread had been looking for 1/2" spacers.
