Question about a '97 4runner

Hey guys, new to the forum and I love the site...

Anyways, I currently drive a 1990 toyota pickup and its time to get a "new" car. (I am 17 years old).. anyways after looking around and such I have decided that I am interested in the 4runners. Most of the newer models are too pricy (13,000 and up) but I did find a 1997 4runner with 140,000 miles... which brings me to my question. Would the 4runner last me through college if I maintain it? My 18 year old truck currently has 140,900 miles.

Do you think it is worth $5,500?

Thanks!

Yes, it is worth $5500 if it is in decent condition. Yes the 97 will last you for at least 250K if maintained well. There are lots of little things you can fix up on a truck with that many miles that will make it ride better. Shocks, springs, steering rack bushings, lube drive shafts, etc. I was not afraid to buy a higher mileage Toyota for a reason. Why should you?

My 1997 4runner has over 270,000 miles on it, I wouldn't worry about it..

YotaMan, you'll want to avoid this site if you buy that 97, otherwise budget another $5500 for mods
