question 02 sensor versus A/F ratio temp sensor
Hi , some around my place told me there is no difference between the A/F ratio temp sensor and the o2 oxygen sensor they told it just because Toyota naem it like that to difference the position of the parts .

They do the same thing but the technology is different. They are in the same position but you can't substitute one for the other and the cats and ECU the A/F's work with are different on 4Runners. A/F's on 3G 4Runners are on '99 & '00 Cali. emissions trucks and all '01+ models.

Don't try and understand the rest of the label, it will just confuse you.

Air/Fuel ratio sensor is Toyota's terminology for a wideband oxygen sensor. These have the ability to precisely measure the air fuel ratio. Oxygen sensors are the typical narrowband variety the can only switch between rich and lean.
