problems that i've never seen before

i got the 5 inch rear superlift springs in the rear and theirs shocks too. when ever my rig have people in the back or even in the back seat and i go over a drive way bump or a speed bump, i hear a loud noise like i'm bottoming out or like something just his the ground and i know i'm too tall for that to happen so does anyone have any ideas what it is. it's the back passenger side that makes the noise which the passenger side also sits like half and inch lower too. could it be a bad shock or the springs are so stiff that when the get overloaded and then recoil back the make a loud pop noise?? if pics will help, let me know and i'll post some.
thanks,
alan

i have a similar problem with my runner, i have skyjacker 4" springs and stock shackles, if i compress the rear hard the shackle will flip up and hit the frame, causing a solid clunk, does that sound like your problem?

I agree, shackles are very likely. Also, check the spare tire carrier, rear bumper bracket, the shock bolts and shock end to see if they rub or hit, stuff like that. Maybe you have a shopping cart or a Honda wedged under there...

is the shock on the passanger side bottoming out? i put in add-a-leafs and longer shocks and found that the shock legnth on the passanger side is shorter then on the driverside with stock configuration. the es3000's were like 1/4" to long on the passangerside....

There are so many things that could cause a pop or clunk sound. Everyone has posted good ideas, and with the limited information I would recommend to look at the shock travel. I had shock travel problems with my 6" skyjacker springs and flipped u-bolts. I have also noticed that the passenger side upper rear shock mount is not at the same relative distance as the driver's side (because of the tank). I wouldn't assume that Superlift got the shock travel 100% perfect even for their own springs.

Try compressing/twisting the rear suspension on a curb, log, etc., then e-brake/park and get out to look at the rear suspension and look at clearances.

BTW, 884runner, your truck is almost the twin of mine (same color, bumpers, etc.) I took the 4" lift off 4 months ago...
