Problem With leak...

Hey, i recently got a new widsheild and i think that it leaks. I noticed when i was driving in the rain that water was dripping in under my dash, but i can't tell exactly where it is coming from. Any suggestions?

first thing i would do is have someone with a hose spray your windshield while you check for leaks. If you dont find any and you are using the AC your condenser drip hose may be plugged. Also if you have a sunroof your drain hose may be clogged for that. I had that problem. When i would stop the water would come from the upper trim around the front windshield and run down behind the dash. Hope that helps

That's not good buddy...

I hope you take it back to where you had the windsheid installed/replaced.

It could well be the windsheid rope seal not sealin'.

Mike

It's probably the windshield. These windshields are notoriously hard to seal unless they use the factory equip. Take it back and have them seal it up some more.

In the rear of the sunroof there are 2 drain tubes 1 on the left and right side. The first thing i did was open the sunroof and pour some water down inside. Then i went to the side of the rig to see if the water was draining from the bottom of the rear quarter glass(look for the 2 holes at the bottom of the molding)aslo look at the left and right side.If you dont see any water flowing out you drain tube is clogged. To gain access to the drain tube i did the following. Remove the rear cargo side panels.Remove some of the trim from the back door area holding the ceiling panel. Then remove the plastic pins holding the ceiling panel in place. When the ceiling panel is free you will see the plastic tube in the rear of the sunroof tray. The only thing holding the tube in place is a spring clip .Remove clip pull on the hose and insert something in the hole to free the clog.Just remeber there will be water in there still so have a towel handy. Whew my fingers are tired:confused:

Well, i took my car in for the leak problem, and it wasn't the windsheild. It was just the gromet in the fire wall, where i ran my power wire. Thats frustrating. But i got it all taken care of.
