power antenna broken
#21
I posted this somewhere else but here is what I did for the same thing.
Replaced the mast as mentioned above.
Installed a $3 pushbutton switch from Radio Shack inline with the antenna power lead from the radio (blue wire)... I leave it off (antenna down) when listening to cd's or sirius, or going through the car wash or low hanging trees. Haven't broken it in over 5 years now. This works for both stock and aftermarket radios.

I have just ordered my new complete power antenna assembly from my local dealer (112.00 GBP)
, & I plan to fit it this weekend.
Now I know that I have to remove the inner plastic ˟˟˟˟ shield to get at the power antenna. But with regards to the cable to the stereo, can it unplug from the antenna end or is only at the stereo end?
If it's at the stereo end, will I have to remove the stereo or do you think that it could be reached from behind the dash? What i'm thinking is that as my vehicle is right hand drive that it might be easier to remove the glove box unit & give access to the back of the stereo?
What do you think?
Many Thanks
Regards

As for unplugging it, if you have the stock radio I would definitely unplug it at the antenna as it will be part of a big plug at the radio..

broken antenna and then some
I have a broken antenna. I found that the antenna mast was broken off and was stuck in the motor. When I took it out and put the motor back together, I found it didn't work. I couldn't even turn on my stereo at all. I reopened it and found that a small copper connector block inside the motor was shattered. What do I do?

its will be a simple task... unplug the old motor and plug in the new one. You should have no reason to get to the stereo.
