Question Popping into neutral.

Hey guys, recently while I was driving around in dirt I hit some washboard type bumps under heavy acceleration and my truck jumped into neutral (the shifter actually moved into neutral it wasn't just slipping) and becasue I'm accelerating heavily my truck jumps to the redline OUCH.... Have you ever had this happen to you? My truck has done it about 3 times now.
  1. Did I do any damage?
  2. Is this normal?

p.s. I learned my truck hits the rev limiter @ 5621 RPMs

It's happened to me before - as far as I know it doesn't really do anything bad. Then again, my knowledge of transmissions (especially automatics) is rudimentary.

And I doubt you did anything bad to the motor by revving that high, the 3.4 is tough.
