pop up tent topper name?

I saw a topper a while ago and was just thinking about it and was wondering if anyone knows the maker. It was just a plan old topper but built in to the top of the topper was a tent you could pop up. So you slept on top of your topper in a regular tent built into the topper. Just curious if anyone knows who makes that. Thanks

This maybe obvious but it is not something I thought of initially when I was looking into purchasing this tent/camper system. You are unable to use your vehicle while you are camping unless you want to tear down the camper. I consider this for hunting but would not have been able to use my vehicle for hunting. Similarly, if you are going trail riding with your rig you will be faced with the same problem. Just my thoughts.

Around here those go for big money. Myself, I would rather have a pop-up trailer or just sleep in the back of my rig for the reasons zbadboy69 mentions.

If you are going to be in the blind or on the stand at sunrise you can't tear down camp just to relocate the truck.

Same deal here.
On Paper.........sounds cool until I actually saw a few guys down at the Tucson Gem and mineral show using one.
First thing I said...................Gee........thats renders the vehicle useless?
Why not just camp on the ground and buy an 8 by 8 tent for 40.00 ?

I could tell other people were loving it but my practical mind knew better.
Remember that pontiac Hybrid something or another with a pop out tent??
Sometimes all you need is the idea....... cuz it really doesn't have to work.
Look at the original Xterra roof rack?? useless................but it sold a billion of 'em!
That and a 10.00 dollar first aid kit.......Ha!

My dad has a Flip-Pak. Its pretty freaking awesome. Super lightweight, easy to pop open, and close. We use it for Baja all the time, its a great setup. If we need to take off and check out another point, all we do is take our bedding off and put it down and we're off.

Useless? How is it any different than a regular topper or sleeping in your truck? Except that it's about 8 feet tall in the middle, you have a real full size (around 76"x48"), 3" thick mattress that's not on the ground, no rocks, roots or critters. It takes about 5 minutes to be up and running, including parking the truck on a level spot. They are not for everyone, but they are nice. You are right, though, about taking it 'wheeling if the point is set up base camp. But for anything except that, dirt biking, mountain biking, climbing, exploring, it's worked out great for me. It serves as a good topper normally and you can drive all day, pull into a place and be sleeping in 15 minutes. No worries if there's mud or snow on the ground, you'll be dry. In fact, as long as you can find a place that's relatively level, you will be fine no matter what the ground looks like. If the weather is not great, we'll set up a little table inside, play cards, read, listen to the radio. We'll set up the one-burner stove and cook. It's big enough inside that you don't trip over each other when you walk around.

props to that topper rig. thats pretty insane but I'm sure it 's the better part of 1,500-2,000
I just think setting the bed of your pick up to camp renders the vehicle usless
for anything but that.
A standard tent is 40.00 bucks and a cot is 25.00.
That and all your stuff is out in open, no security and if it rains , you'll be tarping everything .
I sleep in my runner all the time but I can just get up and cruise on a moments notice or leave my stuff around camp and take a drive for anything.
I just think it's a way to overthink the tent idea. There's no need for it.

Wildernest for sale!

I have a Wildernest camper plus custom-built removable kitchen set-up for sale. It's been on 4 Tacomas I've owned, and been to some amazing places. The new '08 Tacomas are 2" wider and so the Wildernest won't fit.

Kitchen set-up on left side of truck includes sink with hand-pump faucet, connected to a 5-gallon container, space for 2 gas burner stove with fold-up stainless steel ?backsplash?, storage drawers on full-extension guides that form into a table, etc. Right side storage bench runs the length of the truck bed, perfect for seating while dining in! Great condition, seams have just been sealed, all hardware, brackets, support poles, and original owners? manual. Dimensions: 77? long by 60?
I am asking $1900 for everything. I have photos, but they're too big to load here?? (new to forum, and dumb to boot!)

I'm located in SW Colorado.
