yeah, that O2 sensor may be contributing to it, but the 5-speed...if he has one...should not be contributing, as my 3.4 w/5-speed consistently gets better mileage than my friend's 98 3.4 4runner with the auto, and that's in both city and highway driving...but on the highway, i get around 300-320 miles before i fill it back up...just depends on how far i'm willing to go with that fuel light on...

Do you guys use cruise control?
Try getting a scangauge and watching your mileage... it may suprise you if you take a little pressure off the right foot, the mpg jumps right up, and you still maintain speed...

I'm running a '91 with a 3.4 swapped into it. I can get 425 kms (approx. 260 miles) out of a tank of fuel, but I find that it varies with the brand of gas I use. So far, I find that Shell almost always gets me over the 400 km mark, but other brands do not. When I did the O2 sensors for the swap, I used generic NGKs (could not get the fancy Toyota weld in bungs for factory sensors) and spliced them into the Toyota wiring. I haven't tried to pull and codes, since I have no OBD II port yet.

My mechanic and the Toyota dealer haven't found anyhting out of the ordinary from my truck and it's sensors so I may have to just replace the TPS sensor to start since that what the original CEL was saying.

I'm barely getting 200 a tank after averaging 240-260 a tank for the last 3 years.
