PO420 @ 87k on 01 v6

Anyone else run into this ? Im basically stock . Dealer wants 1977.00 to replace both cats. I feel its a little early for them to fail. Any suggestions

Go to an exhaust shop and get a real quote.

Complete BS......at the very worst you'd be looking at $100 each for aftermarket high flow cats plus install labor.
There are lots of threads on this subject to search.

Also, do a search for your OBD code because P0420 is not always a converter problem.

I did feel the urge to grab my ankles while I was at the dealer. I wouldnt go but I still have life on the extended warr. But of course this is not covered . Ill search the obd
