i am not sure how the bushing come out. i was on the trail when i had mine out, and i was holding up 5 other trucks with this issue, so we just banged it straight and parked mine due to the strength being compromised with the straightening.

nc994run,
would you be willing to possibly pick up a second if they have one? i can paypal you funds if you wouldn't mind.

With Lance's rig we had Kartek make up a set of LCA's using moly tubing that was then threaded for heim joints. cost of tubes were around $60 each, then you need 4 heim joints.

The first time I bent one of my stock arms, I took a lead hammer and pounded it back straight. I used a ratchet strap to keep the axle in place while removing the LCA. Very simple job..........

Hi guys, I am new to the forum. I just got my 3rd gen yesterday. I bought it knowing it had probs.

My right rear is bent in the same manner as fireteacher's. The tires appear to be in bad shape and i get a ton of wobble, even at slow speeds. i assume this is my problem as I have already replaced the rack bushings. the tires may have been rotated recently? i ordered a used arm for 55 shipped + tax.
I have a good set of tires to put on it, but I ws thinkin bout waitin till i put on the new arm. Good idea?

i am hoping this fixes it, any thoughts?

thanx

i would not say mine was cool or exciting. lol!

i have actually priced out the idea i was looking in to, and with new bushing in the stock ends, and the DOM tubing, i can rebuild mine for a cost of about $75 each. i was going to get another stock one, but for the little extra money but double the strength, i can't pass it up.

and for the comparison you gave of none bent and tweaked, i could only get my tweaked one about as straight as your is. after banging it flat, it started to cave the tube in, and i was afraid to go too far with it.

ok so i finally drove the truck today and along the way when i would stop, it kinda sqeaks a bit. i am guessing the bushings in the LCA i replaced need to be lubed as they were not when i put them in! what do i use?

i actually had the same thing after replacing mine on the trail. i sprayed some deep creep on it, and that has worked so far, but i am guessing a white lythium grease or something that won't wash away?

What technique did you use to pound out the dent in your rear bumper?

looks to me like you have spherical road ends [if yours are the same as pictured above] you should be able to take the rod ends (sometimes called heim joints, or jonny joints) out, bend the shaft back in place with something concave like an anville. If the shaft brakes, I would take a peice of stock with an I.D just larger than the O.D of the broke shaft, and probably .187 thickness or better- insert each end of the broken shaft into the new stock.. weld the ends and you've got a better than new peice.

If you remove the rod ends, you shouldn't have any trouble welding on that thing, as always when welding, be sure to remove all paint, oil etc. or you weld wont be a strong because of perosity. Also, it would be best to TIG weld it. hope that helps -Hiriden
