The bush guard will do more damage to your truck. Typically they are fairly weak. I wouldn't push a car with one for fear of damaging my own. My mom's husband had a 94 landcruiser with a bushguard which was more for image than anything else. He ended up rearended somebody... anyways the bumper got a way pretty unscathed but the hood, fender, lights and grill took the force. 5k later... Keep the bumper at what its best for... bumping things.

MTR's suck in the mud! They don't clean that well. Great in dirt and rocks though. Is this truck more of a daily driver than anything else? If you are going to get a tire in that price range I would get a BFG Mud terrain, They clean well and do great in all types of terrain and wear like Iron on the road. I got 50,000 miles out of a set once and they still had some tread left.

roorunner- could you email me- phillipsra@wofford.edu -how you did your herculiner cuz i heard it won't stick to the chrome, and did you sand it down and what not and all the steps you went thru and what you used b/c im new to the stuff, i probably wont use the reflective finish, i like the matte look
-my neighbor owns a body shop and has a sprayer to apply the liner too

anyway nice to see some fellow pikes here, im at wofford-nu chapter, you should come up and party sometime, how far away is ga southern?

also let me know how you like ur bfg's i can't decide what tires i want, i need somethin good in the mud

for a cheaper tire I would go with the Maxxis buckshot mudders or pro-comp mud-terrain. That is what alot of people run around here in Indiana. Pro-comps will get a little more wear out of but the buckshots do better in the mud.

The MTR's don't wear that well on the street and they ball up in the mud. I was very dissapointed in them when I bought them. I had them for about 4 months and sold them to buy a set of BFG's.

okay.....im givin in, im gonna buy the tjm t-15 bar w/ the full coverage not just the bull bar, http://www.4by4connection.com/4runtjmt15ba1.html
theres a link if you want to look at it

if they're open tomorrow, im gonna call and order it, after that, hopefully if i get a chance im gonna take my back bumper off and herculine it....wish me luck!!!!

i wont be able to put the tjm on till i get out of summer school, which is right around 4th of july, i'll have to work some more to get the money for hte lift since im spendin so much money on the tjm

i think i might put one of our old winches through the tjm...not sure yet

when i get the money, which shouldnt be long after 4th of july, im gonna buy the lift....still tryin to decide btwn. these 2 lifts:

3" 4Runner 4WD Lift Kit W/ Diff Drop
OME 3" Lift 4Runner Coil Kit
they're both at....http://www.toyteclifts.com/96024runn...runnerliftkits

someone told me today that these suspension lifts wouldn't be good in the long run for my frame or wear somewhere else, i forgot what he said, but any input???? help me out guys

thanks,

ryan

Between those 2, I would go with the OME lift and add in a diff drop (cheap insurance). The coil spacers will eventually wear down your front coils and supposedly gives you a stiff ride.
