What I believe everyone is getting to is....

1. Go get an oil and filter change as soon as you can.
2. In addition, have your transmission completely flushed and refilled at your local dealer as soon as you can.

That way, you will be on the safe side!

Im probably gonna get flamed for this but right after I bought my 4Runner i was IN A HURRY and wanted to change the oil. I had never seen a vehicle with a trans drain plug and I was really not paying attention. I drained the trans and filled the oil, I didnt check anything and I went to leave. Btw I put 5qts in and no overflow occured. I went to back out, put the auto in reverse and it took a moment to engage. It felt weird so I got under the truck, realised what I did, locked my keys in the car 30 miles from my house. All in all I wasted $30 for mobil 1 synthetic oil and had to put crappy oil in cause I was broke. Put more trany fluid in, burnt my hand really bad changing really hot oil because the plug fell out into the oil drain pan clogged the hole and to avoid filling the garage with oiul I reached in the HOT oil and grabbed it. This was the worst day of my life. Goodtimes though. Never will that happen again EVER. Im just glad I only drove the lenght of my parents driveway with that low tranny fluid. Let the flamming begin!

I understand mistakes, but I hardly can make out what this chick did besides filling her tranny twice with motor oil???
