Pesonally, I like the look of the rear spoiler mounted on a 4Runner...but that's just me. Looks too plain w/o it, but to each his own.

They are designed to minimalize the amount of debris that builds up on the rear hatch glass. Mine does a fair job of it. Not great, but ok.

The reason why some 4Runner got them and some did not...you got me . I can only assume Toyota considered it an option and not a standard piece of equipment. Thus, some 4Runner got it, some did not.

Oh and Silver97, nice 4Runner...especially the wheels .

personally I think if your going with a rear spoiler, the JOAS one looks much nicer then the stock ones.

They were newer from the previous owner. I left them on. No problems yet.

Personally, I'm still undecided on these particular wings. IMO, they look too much like the rear wings you see mounted on the toyota sequoias. However, they do give the 4Runner a very unique look. I don't want to say I completely don't like them, b/c who knows, my 4Runner might end up with one before it's all said and done

If you go new oem, I want to say they are a couple hundred dollars. Although if you can find them used, they are pretty cheap. The Jaos model I've also seen go for more than the new oem spoiler, but then again, find it used and it's half that. It's kind of hit or miss either way you go. If you want the oem version, try your local salvage yard. I'm sure you could get one at a good price there.

Either way, since you don't have anything mounted on the back of your hatch, it's drilling the mounting holes that will be fun (unless of course you have the holes pre-drilled.)

The JAOS was $225 shipped. Then $60 for painting it. I mounted it myself in about 20 minutes.

Check for rust under your fender flares and then do the tacoma gasket mod.(search)

You've probably got some paint wear and rust already.

IMO, they do as good a job as any other wheel in their size/category off road. I tend to stay clear of objects that might damage them though...I'm still babying them .

More importantly, it's you choice in tire that will take you more places off road...
