Phase III
Woohoo!
Phase III begins...STEREO MODS!
Here's what I have so far:
Sony Xplod head unit (50Wx4)
Stock mid-range and tweeters in front.
Sony Xplod 3-ways in rear.
Sony 12" sub powered by Sony 480 watt 2-ch amp (bridged)
Sony Xplod 10 disc dh changer
Sony MobilEX minidisc changer
Here's what I'm adding:
Q-logic custom kick panels
another set of mid-range and tweeters
4-ch amp
I have the kick panels already. I don't know what speakers I want to put in front. I'm partial to Sony (can ya tell?). I like the looks of Sony's component system. But, they only have one model($300 for the pair). MB Quartz is another one I've been looking at. I'm deffinately going with a Sony 4-ch amp. Any opinions/feedback on speakers?
Much appreaciated!

Sounds like a great start. I too like Sony stuff, although the only Sony item I have is the M650 deck.
My next deck will be the Sony MP70 deck.
Plays raw MP3s.
I was just playing with it again today at the local shop.
If you want a different sub, JL makes great ones.
Here is my setup.

There's a guy on ODW who likes to cut down Sony gear, don't listen to him.
Their decks are great. I have had mine since June of 2000, and it's taken a lot of jarring off road, and it works fine.
Never had a problem with it.

Could you shoot a pic of the Q-Logic Panels and post it? I've been interested in them for quite a while - I don't want to use my doors and intrude on my door pockets. Plus the kick panel ionstallation helps with stereo imaging! I'm curious to see what size speakers you can fit in them.
I have a bunch of gear that I pulled out of my old IASCA sound competition Celica GTS that is going to make it into my Runner soon (Alpine source/changer, digital xovers, Rockford amps, Dynaudio speakers, sub TBD but probably a 10 or 12 Kicker solobaric). I plan to do a fully stealth install. I'll post pics when I do the work.
You can't go wrong with the MB Quart speakers. I had component sets in my Celica at one point and I even have their home speakers for my home theater setup. Great Titanium Tweeters!!!

My dad has a digital camera. I will snap a few shots next weekend. I just bought them off a guy here in town who just sold his 96. It was happen-chance. I went into his store to get a price on an alarm to replace my RS3000. I asked him what happened and he told me he sold in in favor of twin daughters.
He sold me his kick panels for $50
When I get them in, I will post them on my Webshots page.
