pcv hose collapse

--MY PCV issue is that the hose from the pcv to the plenum is "COLLAPSING" due to the suction of intake., I already replaced the previous PCV with an OEM and get the same issue....i'm thinking this is due to blockage from the "OTHER" vent.. where might that be?? its the intake right?
could the hose be incorrectly spec , i.e not the correct thickness thus not withstanding any negative psi from intake?

You changed the valve but did you put a new hose on it? Once the hose starts to degrade it is less resistant to collapse.

The other factor which you mentioned is the intake to the crankcase vent system. If you have one hose collapsed it's not unreasonable to expect the other hose to be degraded also.

If all these are new and intact you should check the crankcase pressure.

thanks Co_94_PU, that confirms my intuition. Where is the intake to the crankcase system?

Typically as far away from the valve, IE other end of valve cover or other end of opposite valve cover.

It's hard to say, you don't mention what vehicle/engine.

Yeah 5VZ, I see in a diagram (Haynes Manual) that the flow direction is sourced from the intake plenum only. there are 2 exit ports, one on each valve covers, but only one pcv on the passenger side. these exit ports reroute the hot air back to the intake, before and and after the throttle body,
hopefully its just the hose integrity......

PCV positive crankcase ventilation (system), when you say pcv it seems you are talking about the pcv valve. Yes there is only one valve but it has to draw air thru the crankcase from somewhere. Like I said this vent is usually as far away from the valve as they can get it.

On your 5vze engine it's on the left side of the motor at the back.
