Well I just did a seafoam treatment to see if that might help. At this point, no change. I also recheck the compression on #3 after letting it get up to normal temp. The reading was the same, 150. Anyone have a copy of the 1996 fsm?

 

Well as much as I hate to admit it, I found the problem to be a fuel injector. I will be calling the place that serviced them and see what can be done as I had them service back in April 2006. I'll let you know.

 

That was really all that was left since you said you already replaced the plugs, wires and switched the coils, compression was good, no vacuum leaks found etc. Seeing as you also had 2 other fuel injectors go bad (very unusual to have more than one let alone 3) that is certainly where it would point now. If I were you I would just replace all 3 remaining injectors with new since they are all probably on their way if you've had 3 go out already thus far. I haven't priced a set of OEM injectors, but you could always get a set of the 318's from URD ( www.urdusa.com ) or get a set from someone that just installed a S/C.

 

Well I've been looking on ebay for a spare set, but right now I'm off the the junk yard to find one to get me back on the road again. I'm on a budget or I would've considered the urds. Thanks.

The P/N should be 23250-62030 (green, used on 96-97) or 23250-62040 (brown, used on 98-02) for the stock ones I believe. Either of those parts should work fine for you as replacement sets.

 

well, my issues continue but now I think it is a bad engine mount because the vibration/poor idle occurs only in gear or reverse...new plugs and wires, clean MAFS, vacuum lines changed, air filter cleaned, pcv replaced, battery checks out good, fuel injector in the tank and no codes....hopefully replacing the mounts do the trick...

For a stock runner, wouldn't a 318cc injector be too much? Just wondering.

 

Glad to hear you got it licked!

It really depends on the stepping of the injector and duty cycle at idle. The 318cc is about 25% more flow than the stock 240cc injector, but they should still idle ok under N/A conditions. My preference would be to get a set of low mileage used stock injectors (likely cheaper anyway) unless you were planning on upgrading to a S/C later.
