I called Gadget the other day and he had me reset the light and see what happens. He said he might have to swap the unit out if it comes back. I have about 600 miles on the trip and nothing yet. I'll post up if there are any developments.

How did you reset the light? Is pulling the EFI fuse sufficient? I assume so.

got another check engine light at 800 miles. 0136.......
I'll give gadget another ring. I usually reset the light with a cheap ebay scan tool.

My check engine light came ON and its code P0136.
Got it diagnosed and it's my No.2 O2 sensor, farthest from engine block.
Should I buy a new one from toyota at $160??
Or the simulator,... Other options???
My car runs fine... but I'll keep my eyes out for gas/mileage.

Please advise,

Check out Sparkplugs.com...looks like $78 for the rear for my 2002. The front sensor is the more expensive and usually the first to go. Don't be surprised if the other one goes not too long after the 1st.

Toyota OEM == re-branded Denso

Did you get any answer from gadget? I am in the same boat so far as installing the simulator to get rid of a p0420 and now am getting the p0136.

Answers would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem. After installing the URD box I got the P0136 code. I called URD and they told me that likely the rear most o2 sensor after the last Cat has failed. When I questioned how this would matter as I understood their module to be a replacement for that o2 sensor per say, they told me that their module requires some kind of signal coming from that sensor to operate properly. I've ordered the o2 sensor and will update if the problem goes away.

Lets see if I can paraphrase what I read elsewhere here...

Having the URD simulator only solves the p0420 code or having to deal with cat replacement (in Federal emissions states).

It does not replace the post-cat o2 sensor, just 'comes to an agreement with it.' Both exhaust sensors need to replaced like usual.

So you should be good. Funny though, replacing a sensor that really tells you if your cat is doing well, when it really isn't. Logically it makes no sense. Financially, it makes perfect sense.
