Ordering a Rear Limited Fender

My friend was backing out of the driveway yesterday and clipped the left rear fender flare on my 97 4Runner LTD. The damage is not too severe, but it's mainly just an eyesore. Can anyone recommend a place to order a new one at a reasonable price? I would prefer one that is already factory painted in the silver trim color, but would consider anything. Thanks for the help.

Check your local body shop. My mother was pulling out of a parallel parking job and hopped the curb and ripped off the fender flare on the rear passenger side door. Local body shop fixed it up nice. But we got raped on it tho. $575 for a single half flare and paint and install...OUCH!

That might be an option, what kind of qualifications do you have for painting?

Look at his rig! The bumpers, flares, and trim look factory. He did a lot of work for Brian's (WaskillyWabbit) as well and it looks incredible. At laest he offers you the help, I think he turned me down because I'm an Auburn fan.

Dude, I never turned you down, I just forgot that you asked about it and never got back to you... Sorry. Better catch me before Jan or you might have to drive to Knoxville to get anything painted.

Let's see, as far as experience goes, I have about 2.5 years of experience of using automotive paints on a daily basis while working for a museum-quality scale model manufacturer (http://www.2scale.com) in a previous life. It's extreme detail work and the finishes have to be PERFECT - much MUCH more so than on automobile sheetmetal. As far as Yotatech references go, I've replaced and painted a front bumper/valence/flares on my old 99 2wd Runner after a small wreck - pics posted here on YT. After that, I bought a Black 99 4wd Runner that needed some paint work on the driver side door. I repainted it and sold it for about $4000 profit. Then I painted my new scooped hood, ARB bumper, both fenders, and all limited trim, tag surround, and rear bumper on my current Red 99 4wd Runner. I've also painted waskillywabbits tag surround as well as the front and rear bumpers and also his driverside rear quarter panel that was damaged in a "bump" on the trails at Tellico. I've also done some work for LSUMatt, painting his brush guard, rear window spoiler, and cargo basket. Check out http://www.4rnr.net for pics of waskilly's rig and the work I did on his bumpers.

Let me know if I can help you out.

The only thing about fenders and hoods is the shipping. I could get them here and they'd be in great shape, then I'd paint them and get them looking great, then ship them, and the shipping company could drop them and ruin everything. One fender is a maybe. Two is getting expensive, but a hood - you can pretty much forget about that one getting back to you in the condition it leaves me. I'd hate for you to spend that much money on a hood and paint to have it damaged in shipping. To be honest, as much as I'd like to make some extra money and help you out at the same time, you'd be better off getting someone local to take on a task that big since for me it would include shipping.

Good luck.
