I have read many threads about tires sizing and tires.
My wifes 98 needs shoes. She put up with me putting a size large tires on her Xterra (30to31 TruXus and lastly BFG AT KO).
We will not be wheeling the 4runner until it is mine in 4years but we will be in Colorado and New Mexico with many camping trips. Honestly the BFG AT where overkill most of the time but loved them in the winter and the look.
I have decided on the Revos but how much of a difference will the size increase make on MPG and power. On the Xterra is was noticeable power and 1-2 mpg. Which with $$ for gas I can't afford that much lose, power not much of a concern. The wrong speedo irritated her off a lot too.
I have read a lot about how it did affect MPG by that much and some said not at all. Anybody with first hand comments
Thanks

I have had LT265/75R16 C tires on my '97 4x4, V6, 5 speed for 80,000 miles.
I went with the more durable construction of a 6 ply tire (vs the stock 4 ply) because I was tired of getting flat tires, whenever I drove over a pebble in the road.(slight exaggeration).
I never noticed any power loss, and there was no appreciable difference in gas mileage, if you accounted for the odometer error, caused by the larger tires.
I'm currently running Toyo Open Country A/T tires, and have been very happy with them under all conditions.

When I was shopping for tires, I found that the 70 series Revos are passenger tires, while the 75 series were light truck tires.
75's rub once in a blue while I am in reverse and turning.
EDIT: As far as MPG, I don't notice anything from 70's to 75's. I still have to fill up a lot.
May notice a slight loss in power.

Thanks for the quick responses.
I am sure some of my MPG loss was type of tire more tread etc...MT
Was the odometer error around the calculated 3% so== 70 would be 74? more or less?
