Crystals of salt are, but an off-ocean breeze/mist could actually carry salt inland. Not to mention the sand containing a ton of salt that gets blown up on roads and so forth that gets wet, makes puddles, and splashes up onto the undercarriage of your car.

granulated salt will fall straight down...
smaller particles of salt can be carried by a gust, I believe.

someone correct me if I'm wrong please?

just for an example, turn over a salt shaker. Does gravity pull the salt down? Or, does it float out into the atmosphere? While I don't doubt that driving on roads that boats and ocean going vessels were towed on have dripped salt water to splash up on your vehicle. Salt molecules are to heavy to fly around in the air.
The big granules are too heavy, but there are millions of smaller particles that you can't see that float around (not because they are lighter than air, but because the air blows them around). You'd be surprized what isn't allowed in a semiconductor cleanroom. A clicking ball point pen isn't allowed because the mechanism will generate particles that contaminate the product.

Dust is heavier than air, but yet it's been proven the sand from the sahara desert can travel all the way across the ocean.

Anyways, the salt might not evaporate with the water, but the waves can atomize the water/salt and get the salt in the air.

While I realize salt is heavier than air , so is water, but it still floats in the air. I quess the spray from the waves puts the salt in the air where it is carried inland. My car was parked maybe 150 yards from the water and it was always covered with a white haze. This salt air also rusted anything metal on houses on the beach. I worked for a constuction company and we spent half our time replacing peoples doors and windows.
