Ome 891 L/h & R/h

I am installing my lift and was curious about the OME 891 rear coils. I noticed that one had L/H on it while the other had R/H....which one goes on what side? The r/h was slightly taller...is this one for the drivers side? thanks

Taller

The taller one goes on the driver's side to compensate for the gast tank weight and the driver weight.

Yes. Ignore the labels, just make sure whichever is taller goes on the drivers side. Geez I can't believe OME still sends out coils like that.

I had a post way back where I ran in to the same thing, except I made the mistake of actually following the labels. I complained to OME because I needed to rent out garage time to reverse the coils.

A few months later, I finally got a check from them reimbursing me for the garage time.

I think that mine were labled wrong??????

I have been trying to figure out why I am getting the horrible rattling sound from my driver side spring. When I installed mine the longer one was labled as the passenger side, It didn't make any sense, but I did what the labels said. I am going to switch the springs and hopefully my problem will be solved.

Good chance that's the issue if its the rears you're talking about.

Labeling

I was taking some dims for Billy on my OMEs this week and noticed the labeling and I just thought "how stupid is this"! Which side is right or left? Is that facing the rig from the front or rear? I quickly remembered the taller spring goes on the driver's side and that is only an issue in the rear, not the front. Good luck switching out those springs as I too bet that is your rattle.

Tom, that TRD place you mention on the other post got a website?

I'm sure they are labeled that way because they are an Aussie company, and on the Aussie vehicles the gas tank is on the other side.

But Geez, ARB USA should have that corrected for the stuff they sell here.

That web site is http://www.toyotadm.com/

I'll update in that thread too.
