Ok, the posts from the past didn't help me at all figuring out what % stock tint is!
I gathered there are 2 factory tints, one bronze and one grey, depending on the outside color of the vehicle.
Now, I did a search and found posts with % ranges from all over the place, none of which seem to be correct! (or they aren't quoted in proper format, i.e. 35% lets though 35% of sun light and blocks 65%)
Yesterday night I temporarily hung up a piece of 35% bronze next to the factory and it is considerably darker! The factory must be 50% or more. Any hard numbers on what it is?
Also, what sort of places sells a good selection of bronze tints? I've put on quite a bit of it in the past so not worth to pay a shop ($50+)?
Let's figure this out once and for all, so the future generations can get some use out of the search

Guys, I know for sure factory tint can't be 20%. For two reasons:
1.) I've put up a 35% tint (65% sun blocked) right next to factory and it's much darker than factory.
2.) Twenty percent blocks 80% of all sun light and windows would be useless at dusk. It's a safe bet that virtually no factory tint is that dark as it's a driving hazard.
Will I have to take a digital picture of 35% next to factory and use software to figure out exact % or somebody know for sure and would save me the trouble

I had 35% put on my lexus, and its not as dark as factory tint. You can easily see right through the whole vehicle. I just had my 89' 4runner tinted last weekend with 20% and that matches very closely with factory. The tint guy said that 20% is factory tint.
Could be wrong, and the guy at the tint shop could be wrong too
Wait, don't 2 wrongs make a right?
