Oh no, not the Master Brake Cylinder
So my dummy lights came on including the check engine & brake light. After doing many searches I saw that generally means the MBS. Even used it's expensive and the install is even more. So I've been dreading this.
After taking it to a place that is ACTUALLY HONEST (!), expecting them to say the repair will be in the thousands, it ended up being the rear wheel sensor. $290 part and $30 install. Whew!!! Check the wheel sensor before you freak it might be the master cylinder.
Note... my brakes were acting fine. I have seen posts where the brake pedal went to the floor or guys who had to downshift to keep from hitting someone. Well, yeah, then it's apparently the master cylinder. But something to just keep in mind.
My truck at just under 300k miles so I wan't looking to drop thousands on it. Now, I can spend that money on new tires!
