OEM rear locker not working.

okay i know. I've seen it posted but it still doesn't answer my question.
I have the truck in 4LO stopped. i push the rear locker button i CAN hear the locker motor move, but no clank, nothing, and the light is flashing steady.
i have tried going forward and backward, side to side circles both sides forward and reverse with no luck. I bought the truck (2000 SR5 with 100k) a few weeks ago and i bought a warranty with it.

so the main question is: even though i can hear the motor "engage" the locker, the light still flashes and it doesn't feel like it is engaged, is there any way the motor is engaging but not moving the gears for the locker?

I was also having difficulties with mine but I think it's the same issue: tempermental like a woman Seriously though, the first time I used my locker it took like 10 minutes to get it to lock. Just drive forward and SLOWLY turn the wheel side to side, making a lazy snake pattern. Don't make actual turns like in a full circle. Once I cracked that code it will lock right up every time. Good luck!!!

RamRod is correct, you want to turn VERY VERY SLOWLY. When I had to caress mine into locking, I just had to turn a tiny tiny bit. All you are trying to do is offset the gears by 1/2 a tooth, so very little turn will get you lined up.

You might also start troubleshooting the locker if it really isn't locking up. First check for electrical signal at the connector, and if that checks out, then start looking at disassembling and cleaning the locker. These things get mucked up alot and can get jammed.

well i fixed it, just took the motor off and moved it by hand, the light still stays flashing though, but it is defiantly engaged now.
