But NOT necessarly the actual Toyota part itself. It maybe an aftermarket part that closely resembles the stock part and they call it OEM because it's ALMOST the same. Sometimes those parts don't fit as well as the actual vehicle manufactor part (i.e., Toyota or Honda part).

Just because it says Toyota on the box, doesn't mean Toyota manufactured it either. Many parts are contracted out and manufactured to Toyota specs by other companies. Aisin (hubs, trannies, etc.), Luk (clutches), and Nippondenso (plugs, filters, etc.) come to mind for Toyota. These parts would all be considered OEM. Technically, any part made by a company that Toyota puts in an original vehicle is considered OEM. If it not used by the factory, it is not OEM.

OEM is really any part that exactly meets the manufacturers specs.
Buying parts from the dealer will pretty much ensure you get OEM parts.

Make sure ASAP you don't confuse OEM with OME or you will be SOL PDQ when you ask the TOR for your OEM part.
