not going in to gear?

I have 94 runner, its been having some trans. problems. In the first few minutes after starting the car (cold)the trans works ok. After it heats up it seems to mess up. After i stop at a red light and i want to put it back into gear it takes "the strength of ten men" to get it into 1st with a nasty pop sound (feels bad). If i put it into reverse first, it makes a gride noise (that you can feel inside) and then i can put it into first and finally start to move. The shifter works fine when the car is off and put it through some gear changes first. but when the car is on, the clutch seems to not be disengaging all the way?. Something still seems to be moving.? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You're not the only one.

I've just gotten used to it and hardly notice it when it happens anymore.
