Question Normal Rims and Big Tires or Big Rims and Small Tires?

Whats the general consensus? Big, thick tires with normal 15" or 16" rims or small, thin tires with huge 20"+ rims? I've seen both that look nice, but can't decide which is more appealing.

Vote for which one you prefer on a 4Runner for LOOKS.

Zach

No bling-bling on this go-cart.

You won't find too many folks here that are big fans of 20" or 22" wheels. Myself included. Personally, I think they look silly. I can't believe that someone would spend that kind of money on wheels for something that is supposed to be made for off-roading and other adverse conditions. Driving in the snow with "Z" rated tires is not my idea of fun.

I could see maybe on a sports car going to 17-18inch wheels, but not on an suv or truck. I think that the Ram's with the 20's look stupid!

I agree, I don't like the look of big rims on an SUV.

I agree with the "consensus"!

I don't understand why you would spend the money on 20" rims and tires for any vehicle. 17s on a sport/race car sure, 18s are pushing it.

Post My thoughts

I could have guessed it would turn out like this. Honestly, I do like big rims, but I've only seen one 4Runner that had ones that looked nice on it. The guy told me he paid $3000 for them. I have to admit they do look good on big lux trucks like escalades, denalis, suburbans, navigators, and some others, but you won't ever see those off road (well, maybe the suburban). For a 4Runner, smaller ones are what I like (and no I'm not basing my opinion on your votes). Especially pfdaxe's. Those are just right IMHO.

22's

I like the look of both, depending on the generation and colour of the rig.

I actuallly considered going with 20's when I first got the 4runner...as here in phx its almost as practical

BUT, when I saw one with big rims, I puked...yuk!! Looked horrible....I'll take lifted and big tires any day.

Speak for yourself, the last thing I would want is 20's while off-roading in PHX!

100-spokes?

Any more pics of the 4Runner with the 100-spokes? Ones in the daytime? Can't decide what my opinion is...
