Noob shock question

Need to replace my shocks, currently running the OME gas units that came with the OME lift kit. My question, if I go with a different shock or manufacturer, will it affect the lift at all? I assume the springs determine height, just want to make sure. Thx for the help.

Mike

You do need to get the right shocks for the height of your lift

Other wise interesting things tend to happen in a bad way

Using a different brand of shocks won't affect the lift but ride quality will not be the same. You can use bilstein or rancho shocks, but I recommend running OME shocks on the front then use whatever you want for the rear.
