Noise after oil change

Just took my 4th gen. in for 10k service and noticed a louder engine noise than usual. It occurs when the truck has been driven somewhere, turned off for about 5-10 mins and started again. the noise is just a loud "whirring" sound in first and second gear. I thought maybe was 4wd acting up and shifted between 4H and 4L and back, but noise was still there. Is this normal? It was never there before. 10k service was done at the dealer.

TIA, Mike

What 10K service? It only calls for a oil change and a few checks. What do you think the dealer did to your truck?

Just the oil, filter, gasket change and tire rotation. oh, also the lube chassis (if applicable) **rolls eyes** The 10k mile stuff listed in the Maint. manual..

I was just wondering if this was new oil being heated up for the first few times, or if I should be worried. It has been doing this for about a week now.

I hate the dealer touching my truck. It should not make any noise, have you checked the filter, oil level, etc. I'm doing all of my oil changes and I will let them rotate my tires and at 30K miles I will let them put new plugs in, but thats about it. I will do all of the fluids myself (plus it's cheaper) Oil and filter change on the V8 is the easiest I've ever seen, don't even have to jack it up to change it.
