NGK Spark Plugs

master Mechanic at my local Toyota Dealer suggested NGK BKR7EVx-11 spark plugs for my 2002 4runner equipped with the TRD supercharger. He said they would help with ping. Comments?

What octane fuel you running?
What climate do you live in?

Is he suggesting this plug is a lower heat range than the original?

Worth a try...

I am running the NGK BKR7EIX-11, which is the Iridium version. The VX is Platinum. NGK recommended the Iridium when I inquired via email. I had a very minor problem with pinging. Not really enough to worry about, but now that's even better. There is no difference in starting with the 2 step colder plug, but I have noticed a drop in gas mileage after a lot of local driving, but after longer trips, say 100 miles or so it cleans up and the mileage comes back. I am also a conservative driver so that may also contribute. Overall, I am happy with the change.

Im running high performance NGK's in my 94 and it seemed to help my timing and improved my fuel economy a little.

Dana,
You gotta post some pics of your rig. Man, if I had the cash flow, your supercharger/headers/tranny cooler is the exact route I would go. Maybe if I run across a small fortune, I can afford a limited V8 4x4 4th gen with supercharger/headers/tranny cooler. But until they tweak that 4th gen some, I am sticking with my '01.
