Newb Fuel Mileage Question
#22
Second owner for an '01 is not bad at all.
How many miles are on it?
Might ask him the last time it had an oil change/major service.
Do you know anybody near where he lives?
If so, you could have them go by and check it out and maybe drive it.
If he were closer, I'd take it to a Toyota Dealer and have it inspected and have them drive it just to be sure.
I'm very particular when it comes to used cars that I buy, though.

Nice find. Which front bumper is that? Looks like it's got a nice tube rear bumper as well. When you check it out, look at the body panels and look for the VIN sticker. This will tell you if the body panels have been replaced or not. There should be one on the hood, fenders, doors, etc. Good luck.

Fink there are about 100,000 miles on it (160,000 km). I can't take it to a garage but my "Toyota" guy is coming with me. He's forcing me to pay gas in his truck so we can lug his tool box and a floor jack so I'm guessing it's a 50 point inspection, lol. He says oil is changed every 4500 km by him. He's doing an oil change tonight for me. Plugs, wires, fuel and air filters every year he says. They were done last spring. I'm definately going to drive it before I decide, take my buddy with me as he has one just like this. Might even let him drive if he asks nice
As for the front bumper, he has the original (it comes with the truck) but that's one he built for it as he didn't want to wreck the nice one
He also built the roll bar, the back bumper and the rock sliders apparently. Also, I'll take a look at the body panels (well, the accessible ones anyhow) and see if they match the VIN on the dash. He gave me the VIN for the carfax and lien check and it DOES match the advertised truck make and model. He says he did some wheelin with it but I think HIS idea of that and mine differ quite a bit. If I'd been wheelin with that truck it'd be beat all to s*!t by now.
