New TPS
Putting in a new tps tomorrow on my 99 3.4L Tacoma. Never done this before, found this guide http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/TPS/index.shtml but it doesnt exactly apply to my truck. Just wanted to know if the process will be the same though or if anyone that has done it could fill me in a little, im assuming its a pretty easy job.

Usually no adjustment for the TPS.just 2 screws and a connector.
When you remove your tps, couple of things:
Disconnect the neg battery cable before you start.
Make sure you use good pressure on the two screws,so they do not strip, should be small phillips.
When you remove the TPS,you will hear it spring-snap-shut,there is spring pressure applied from the TPS to the butterfly valve,i.e. two prongs on the shaft that contact one side of the TPS.
Make sure you install the TPS to the correct side of those two prongs.....
You will have to install the tps off center from where it is mounted, and then twist against the spring pressure(I believe counter clockwise, its been a while) to line up the two screws...
Do not over tighten and strip the screws, snug is fine, should have loctite on the threads anyway...
Do not mess with anything else, throttle stop,ect......unless,once the new part will not let the engine idle.
Make sure you hook up the connector to the TPS before you re-connect the battery,to avoid code(s).
Hope that helps....From my hazy memory
