new t-belt/water pump= knocking

Okay so i did my new timing belt and water pump today and now i have a nasty knock coming from the engine. knock increases with engine speed. Anyone else ever experienced this. The engine runs great and everything seems normal but the sound! I will dive back into it, but was curious if anyone had this happen before.

I did replace the lower idler as it was kinda noisy...the upper appeared to be in good shape and noise free so i left it be.

With it running put your hand on the upper hose housing and you can feel it knocking. Or take a stethescope and listen to it .

Well its not the idler because i pulled the front cover off and used a stethescope. Its is actually coming from the aluminum front cover that has the fan bearing on it. Is its possible that i have my accessory belts too tight? I remember inspecting this part and it seemed tight as a whistle w/ no noise before. BTW the noise is less than it was yesterday.

Yes it is possible that you over tightened a belt , loosen them up one by one and listen if the noise lessens or goes away.
