New to the site

Howdy. Im new to this site as a member, but i get on the internet a lot and reasearch. I currently have a 91 sasd 4runner, and just purchased a 97 i am going to sas. I am doing leafs front and rear, but am having trouble deciding on axles. As i look around i havent found anyone that has used an 85 toyota 8 inch like done in the 2nd gen swaps. Why is this? I was planning on swapping over to the gear driven 4cyl transfer case, and using the 85 axle i already got. Is there a problem with this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

first of all welcome to the forum, i am sure you will find tons of useless information here... j/k anyway from what i can think of there is only a few members that have actually had the cajones to sa their 3rd gen. i was going to do it, but my fab skills are limited and its my daily driver... some one told me that late model ford axles will work, but they are a lot longer than the width of the 4runner... good luck

Ya im not very good with computers so i was having a hard time figuring out what i was doing. But My 97 4runner isint my daily driver so its pretty much just gona be a straight up trail rig. The only reason i havent started on it yet is cuz my roommate is borrowin it. I want to put my 85 axle in it but just wanted anyones opinion on that idea.
