Now I have started modding....
I researched the new 4Runner L.E.D. tail lenses and they were like from $160.00- $185.00, I liked the tail lenses but I did not want to have to deal w/ individual L.E.D.’s going out over time like I’ve seen on many Cadillac’s, I have the L.E.D. Altezzas on my Maxima I have had them for about 3 years and I have no probs w/ L.E.D.’s yet, but on my 4Runner I saw the all clear tail lenses and I think the all clear look will work well w/my silver color, just like mt front corner and bumper lenses do, so I decided to buy the all clear tail lenses $45.00, and the L.E.D. bulbs to go in them, #7443 Super Red Flux 18 L.E.D. (2 Bulbs = $20.00,rear park/brake lights), #7440 Super Red Flux 18 L.E.D. (2 Bulbs = $20.00,rear turn signals), along with #7440 Super White Flux 18 L.E.D. (2 Bulbs = $14.00)bulbs for my reverse lights plus when the bulbs are off you get a clear look w/out the red from behind the lens you only see the color when the bulbs are activated, up front on my clear corner lenses I put the #194 Super White 6 L.E.D. bulbs(10 Bulbs = $20.00), front turn signals I put #7440 Super Amber Flux 18 L.E.D. bulbs (2 Bulbs = $10.00), I’m trying to decide on a H.I.D. kit next I want some 8,000K H.I.D.’s, I’m going to leave all my interior bulbs stock. I installed them in the reverse lenses and the front corner lenses, they fit right in for my front corner lenses, but on my front bumper lenses and the tail lenses I had to dremel some of the opening to get the bulb to slide in.
Total for this upgrade:
All Clear Rear Tail Lenses = $45.00, Rear Brake/Turn Signal/Reverse = $34.00, Front Corner Lenses = $20.00, Front Turn Signal = $10.00, Total = $109.00.
If I Bought The L.E.D. Tails = $160.00 - $185.00, Reverse = $14.00,
Front Corner Lenses = $20.00, Front Turn Signal = $10.00 Total = $204.00 - $229.00, so I saved $95.00 - $120.00 (not counting S&H charges)
I never count shipping on my mods cause I look at it like this I could not go get the item for what ever it costs to ship it to me and if you order from one seller all at one time you get a discount on shipping plus all your items get shipped together.

I went to radio Shack and bought some 10 Ohm 10 Watt resistors and soldered them and heat shrinked over them on my rear turn signals it remedied the alarm lok up problem on the hazards and the turn signal it still blinks fast but it look real cool with the L.E./D blinking fast

Rolling Thunder Grill Mod
After researching and looking online for a while for a grill for my 4Runner, I found the
JAOS Grill
http://www.burtmanindustries.com/zoo..._jbillet_99-02
looks great but way too expensive for me just for a grill
the Burtman Industries Billet grill and shell
http://www.burtmanindustries.com/zoo...tbilet_99_02_f
another nice billet grill but too expensive also
Then I found the T-Rex Billet grill and shell
http://www.go-fast-parts.com/600717.html
Very nice also I thought about getting this one
Then I decided to make my own I went on Ebay
http://motors.search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZsaintsurfer25
and bought a mesh grill made for a 04-08 4Runner and I modified it to the grill of my year 4Runner 99-02
The stock grill is held in place by 6 clips, I then used the steel wire that the seller sent with the mesh overlay pieces to attach it to my stock grill, I used my dremel tool to cut small slits in the grill from behind to help the wire “bite” into the shell for added security, then I put silicone over each spot to help with vibration the whole process took me about an hour after cutting the grill to make it fit then I paint the grill the same as I painted my calipers and drums I used poster board so now I have a template if anyone wants to try this just let me know I will be glad to help.

Fog Lights
I had some new fog Lights laying around I had bought two sets for my Maxima about 3 years ago but only used one set so I decided to put these on my 4Runner the install took about 2 hours I taped up each wire individually and I tapped off the driver side park light to a relay, laying on your back on this install is hard unless you are laying on a creeper something to rest your head on.
