I just ordered the o gasket from christian and will tackle it and the whole intake cleaning job and tune up when it arrives.

I'm getting about 16 mpg here also and like to improve that.

What wires and plugs did you install or recommend- Bob 98 or whoever with a 98 rig?

What fuel system cleaning additives would you recommend also?
I'll be installing that this weekend too, finally.

I replaced my plug wires about 2-3 months ago when I got my blue top. I replaced them with the stock ones. they are skinny! I think they are like 5mm or something. I was kind of wondering how the 8.5mm magnacore ones performed compare to them but I've heard they have fitment probs with the 3.4L.

I use Outlaw in the white bottle, to me, FI cleaner is FI cleaner.

I'll confirm initial fitment problem with the Magnecor 8.5's. However, with a bit of work they seem to do the job. (Nice wires, but for the money I'm not completely satisfied.......)

Is the part number 22275-20010 for the TRD supplied gasket that comes with the Supercharger or is this another O gasket that you guys found.

Just a heads up for anyone thinking about using the Helix supplied gasket. It doesn't work. Mine has leaked twice now, so I'm looking to get this gasket from my local dealer, because I need it within 2 days, because my truck isn't running right with a leaky throttle body.

Does anyone have anymore of these, because that part number isn't the right part number for Toyota?

Seems like I heard of this mod on the Tacoma Territory forum quite a while back, and they said it was the gasket that came with the SC I thought. Im going to search over there and see what I come up with.

Hey Ravencr, how's life in Marryville? I grew up in Oak Ridge TN but am now up here in Massachusetts frozen like an ice cube. Looking at getting back home ASAP! Very nice 4runner by the way! What kind of fender flares are those, are they OEM?

Anyway, I had been on the Tacoma Territory forums for a while and remembered seeing this mod brought up a long time ago.
Having a 2.7 ltr I didn't pay it too much attention but I do remember a lot of pro's and con's on doing it on the non S/C's engine. Can't seem to remember the overall outcome. Seemed like some had their vehicles run worse afterword, so I was going to try and search for the old posts over there and maybe provide some more feedback. Unfortunately the search function sucks on the Delphi forum and I cant seem to find it. Just trying to help out.

Take care.

Life in Maryville, Tn is great! The trails around here are awesome, and I enjoy them usually 2-3 times a month on average. My 4runner is in so many peices right now, and boy does my wife hate it. I've been running a o gasket from my old helix power tower, but it's leaking, so I need the one that comes with the S/C instead. Are you planning to move back? We need some more 4runners to go wheeling with around here.

Yeah I miss it down there! My wife and I are trying to get down south. She grew up in New Hampshire, but hates the cold. So we'd like to be near to one set of parents when we decide to have a kid or two. My folks are in Oak Ridge but just bought a 120 acre place in the Ozarks in Arkansas. Miles of 4wheelin roads/trails out there. We found a nice town about 40 miles from them and I've put in my resume to a principal down there. I met with him and we really hit it off. He's got another 5th grade teacher about to retire and should know for sure in March.

If I get the job were outta here. I wish they had found a place in east TN but the land was too $$$ there.

Take it easy!

that part # 22275-20010 is the wrong number. I ordered one and it came and was some rubber gasket for the airbox or something. I have been trying to find the right part # and will post it when it turns up!

That part number came from this thread and it came from Todd (TOR).

You might want to write to Todd to see what book or spec sheet he was looking at to get that number. There's been mention that the part numbers cross paths between various models within the Toyota/TRD line.

Also, I've mentioned before that this is the gasket that comes with the supercharger. Checking the SC install manual or parts list may reveal something.

-------------------
Okay, so I got curious and did it myself. I get frustrated watching people waste time and energy like this where the answer is just 30 seconds away.

Googling on "toyota supercharger install manual" produced this link on the first page:

http://www.cottora.com/cottora/mods/...all.Manual.pdf

On the 2nd page of that PDF is a parts list. Low and behold, the "Gasket, 3.4 S/C Throttle Body" is listed there, and it has a part number as well. I'm in a snippy mood, but I'll push through it and post it for you:

00602-17620-032

Hope that helps.

Good question! There is only one way to find out...

Are you cool with pulling the TB yourself?
