New member,need advice

Hello members. After leaving yota ownership land back in 95(91runner then a 88x-tracab.We had to sell out due to $ and space for baby.)We are back with a near mint 94 4runner.In the process of researching for our recent purchase.I came upon this site and thus the head gasket problem of the 3.0.Both of our previous yotas were under 75k and before the recall so except for this and another site I know very little of the severity with the HG problem. With this lack of knowledge and experience.I would like to probe the members of theirs and ask of their advice. Our runner has 139k on it now.It runs great and seams to have no problems.I called toyota and they said the HG were replaced under the recall in 10/98.From my carfax report I estamate it was approx. at 70k at that time frame. My question is .Should I change these HG as a precaution or just run it till it starts showing some sign and hope it dosn't do any $$ damage. Its going to be my wifes daily driver and family runabout in the mts. of western n.c.I have good mech. abilities and tools. We also have other vehicles to drive so downtime is no probelm.(only wifes attitude of not having yota)We plan on keeping this yota forever. In fact I would like to try DANSR5 camry head swap when its time to do a rebuild.Has anybody herd if that swap has been completed. The last thread I saw was from oct. or november.Anyway.Sorry for being long winded. But I'm new and have alot to say and ask. Thanks in advance for any knowledge, exp. and advice

If the engine is running good and not leaking coolant I say run it. Especially if it was replaced already. My head gasket was replaced at 140K and I am now at 212K with no signs of leakage. Dont worry about it unless it is showing signs. Just enjoy it, hit the road hit the trail just dont hit me. Good luck. Ben

Thanks for the replys.I hope to get at least 250k out of it,then start thinking about a rebuild. At which time I would like to try the camery head swap if it has been proven successful.
