Flamedx4..... like the flamin s**t idea....but the way this states so puckered up I'll bet I'd do 5 years for just that....lol......But I think I'll take your other advice and actually start something to give offroad enthusiasts more rights in this beautiful state. I can understand them wanting to make the roads safer for everyone and you can't have every redneck in a jacked up Chevy, Ford or whatever they drive getting into accidents and having their bumber that's 32" off the ground taking out the rear windows of most cars......anyway...I could go off all day about this crap.....

gawd luv wv

hell move on down to WV, where your sisters aint safe and the sheep is scared,,, you can even put 44" swampers on yer house ifin ya wants to HAHA, just kidding they gave me crap about getting my truck inspected this year, they said that with the BJ spacers and larger tires I would have to apply for a modified vehicle inspection, I just took it to one of the local inspection stations where they didnt even notice and after the toothless dude that could only be understood by a caveman was finished making sure my lights worked I was on my way! That does suck.

Oh no kidding. Don't live ANYWHERE in the south-central part of the state. Uff. I hate driving THROUGH that area. Anywhere north (at least 30 or 40 miles) of Montgomery and anything on the Gulf Coast is fine.

I didn't read ALL of this, but here in NJ you can go to a gas station and 'pay' for an inspection sticker. All the ricers do it.

I love Maine for its scenery and its people, but as for its government . . .
Best friends live in Winslow, and we know other folks scattered around the state. We love to visit them, and I'd consider moving there if I didn't have such a good gig here. But the government is "progressive," and has played a large part in driving businesses away. SC used to have inspections, which meant that I'd walk inside and give the man $10 and he'd hand me a sticker for my windshield, without even looking at my ride! Ah, the good ol' days!

From the info you gave us, I think you can put on 33's with BJ spacer, Downey coil rear and maybe 2" body lift.

54" for head light height is like 4 1/2 feet right? you should be able to do above mod.

ChickenLover: I like the way yu think!!! If you can't beat em, trick their a$$e$! haha

I think we (Okies) got yaul beat. I've drove my truck around for weeks with no bed. Not even mudflaps. Just a bare frame with a gas spout sticking up with blinker and tail lights zip tied to the crossmember. Cops don't even look twice.
WE also voted inspections out a few years back so now....as long as your headlights aren't higher than 54", your good to go.

Maybe this is a good time to start a state specific lift law FAQ tread. Any volunteers?

4mydogs......Winslow is like right next door to Waterville. I to love Maine and agree the government sucks here. I just wish there was something I can do about rallying all the offroad enthusiasts of the state to take a stand against this and give us some freedoms to take to the street or trail.
