Been wanting a 4runner for years. Just picked up this 99 SR5 w/the mid year changes. 186k miles. Former owner was a company that put $4k into it to change timing belt, most belts/hoses, full oem suspension, brakes, new plugs, fuel filter, cleaning TB & sensors...then decided to buy a couple FJs and just gave this away on Craigslist for $5k with receipts.











Not sure if that is factory height or not. I've been on this forum all week, alot of great stuff. Bout to order a trans cooler, weathertech mats, power steering rack bushing kit, clear corners, cb, firestick & mount . I could use help on a few things I am just not technical enough to figure out on my own, even after searching:

#1 From these pics does it look like my 4runner is stock height?

#2 This is going to be a daily driver (along with a 07' CBR1000RR). I want to go with just a 2.5" lift but don't want to sacrifice ride quality. Will a Daystar 2.5" lift be alot worse than stock or are there better options under $500? I know for asking, but I searched and just don't know.

#3 Tires, so many choices. Won't be rock crawling soon. Needing something I can put alot of highway miles on and still run through mud offroad. Again

Howdy. Michelin LTX M/S for lots of highway miles, but they are highway tires, not mud tires. Really nice long lasting highway tires. (My opinion here...) Sonoran Steel lift for nice road manners in a capable lift, but not under $500. Can I contradict anything else for you? Actually if you've got the tall coils already and especially if you've got the locking dif (not all do) you've already got a good start in a capable vehicle. Heck, even without those things you can do fun stuff.
Drop the running boards for a start.

 

I've got 48K miles on my Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armour's and I have to say that they have impressed me so far. I drive on dirt roads and ice and snow as well as a lot of highway driving and it looks like I'll get at least 20K more out of them. They handle really well in all conditions and especially well in the ice and snow.
