Last year I made a hitch carrier that holds my hi-lift and tire and it worked out just fine for me, so I most likely won't build a carrier onto the bumper.

If I did, it would fold down, so I could incorporate a table or more floor area in the back for sleeping.

ooh a table!

im doing the cliche swing out. i am looking to more or less copy darren's design, except put the tire in the middle.

just curious if it ever crossed your mind. my main problem now is dealing with ensuring it is well braced... thanks to some people here on YT i know where to get things like the lock, etc... and i have a good hinge

anyway, thanks for making a nice bumper for me to mooch the design of

After I finish cleaning out the garage, I'll be purchasing a tubing bender, at that point I may tackle a tire carrier.

Ok I did another update on the page bumper page

Bruce,
Those are works of art. It's great to see someone take an idea and run with it successfully.

For us lost souls on the east coast, do you only supply these in a kit form?

I'm still taking measurments from rig to rig, there are some differences, but I might be able to come up with a happy medium, so I can build a bumper for a rig sight unseen. I had planned on making some major changes in the actual production bumper, so it would be one size fits all. The difference between the Limited style flares and SR5 is only a 1/2" so I could split the difference. As for the 4Runners without flares, the SR5 version works just fine, the width is needed to protect the body from damage.

Making these hand fabricated one's have helped in fine tunning my templates, also it has given me a chance to try a few different ideas.

Hopefully I'll be able to help out you eastcoasters in the near future.
