Bruce,
First off, these are fabulous. Thanks for all the time, effort and willingness to share your design.
Can you give an approximate cost on what the metal for one of these is costing?
I've got a friend with fab skills that I've thought about taking the plans to and am curious what the raw material cost is.
Thanks again,
Jeff

It's hard to say what your cost will be, I'm lucky to have plenty of suppliers locally, so I'm able to pick up most of my materials at scrap/remanance pricing, which is $0.79 lb. You need 5 feet of 2x4x3/16" retangular tubing, that cost me $4.00 per foot, trailer hitch and chain hoop I get from etrailer.com $18.69, the weather stripping cost $1.43 per foot, shackle hangers are $15.00 each, then about $15.00 in misc hardware.

LOOK! it's not another green 4Runner, wait! It's the StormTrooper...........
That's right, that is 2 bumpers you see, one is heading down to San Diego and the other is heading up to Sacarmento........

No he's not selling them in mass yet, he's just doing local jobs out west wher he can custom fit them. Nothing for us east coasters yet, we're still left fending for ourselves. We need some local fab guru to start up out here.

Having seen all that fitting the bumper involves now I fully understand why it is not a one size fits all deal. Not trying to suck up to Bruce but the attention to detail is just too high for the standard he has decided to maintain.
He is looking at possibly doing the bumper in Kit form so it could be bought and taken to a fab shop for construction or on a do it yourself basis.
